ESL classes each semester. Students take placement tests to determine their

The Newcomers Program's mission is to promote the health of
newly arriving refugees and asylees throughout the city of San Francisco.
Services include screenings, immunization, prenatal care, mental

Students seeking public housing or Section 8 (housing subsidies)
should contact the SF Housing Authority. However, waiting lists
for public housing and Section 8 are very long and may not be
taking new names at this time.

The Housing Rights Committee provides advocacy for tenant's
rights. If your student has a problem with a landlord refusing
to make needed repairs in an apartment, for example, the HRC
will provide a sample letter to submit to the landlord outlining
what needs to be fixed in the apartment, along with advice on
how to proceed legally to force landlords to make repairs that
they are required to do by law.
