TEAM LEADERS

Refugee Transitions identifies outstanding volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their work with RT students to serve as Team Leaders.  Team Leaders assist the agency in supporting new volunteers during their first critical months as Literacy Coaches, and enable the organization to strengthen communication, share ideas, and spread resources.

Each Team Leader supports a cohort group of new volunteers working with students from a specific demographic (Burmese, Bhutanese, Liberian, Chinese, Latino, etc).  Team Leaders gain expertise in understanding a particular community that RT serves; mediate communication between cohort groups and staff; gather resources; and relay ideas and concerns.  Team Leaders set a positive example for new volunteers and serve as seasoned representatives of the agency.
