Refugee Transitions (RT) assists refugee and immigrant families in becoming self-sufficient in the U.S. Our programs help newcomers attain the English language, life, job, and academic skills they need to succeed in their new communities. Refugee Transitions began in 1982 in San Francisco as the Refugee Women's Program and became an independent agency in 1990. With a current FY2018-2019 budget of $1,407,987, the agency provides Education, Family Engagement and Community Leadership programs to 2,500 newcomers throughout the Bay Area.
