Women’s Initiative Consultant

Tenley Harrison joined Refugee Transitions as a tutor in Fall 2001. She has since served on the Board of Directors, as Board Chair, Interim Executive Director (2x), Program and Data Coordinator, grant writer, and instructor. She currently coordinates the Women's Initiative, an education program for both mothers and their children. Tenley grew up in San Francisco, attended Yale College, and has graduate degrees from Stanford and San Francisco State University. In addition to her work at Refugee Transitions, she has also taught English in Japan, served as International Program Director at The Athenian School in Danville, and worked in educational research at WestEd. She can speak Spanish and Japanese and feels that working with the students in the Women's Initiative is truly the privilege of her life.
