Nazario Ambrocio joined RIT in 2024. He was born in Guatemala. He moved to the U.S. when he was 15 years old. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Mam. Currently, he holds the position of Alumni Tutor, where he supports NEST teachers and students at Fremont High School (FHS) in Oakland. He graduated from FHS in 2022 and is currently attending Berkeley City College. His goal is to transfer to UC Irvine to study political science.

He decided to join RIT because he is deeply committed to his community. Many students from the Mam community face numerous challenges, especially related to English as a third language. As Newcomer students, many youths struggle with speaking both English and Spanish simultaneously. He wants to support them in any way he can and make their academic journey smoother. In his free time, he enjoys exercising and playing soccer. He also has a profound interest in documentaries about nature.
